Surendra Kumar and Abhishek Verma built an acoustic impedance tube per ISO standards in three months.

2020: January

Manan Agarwal presented on the importance of sound-absorbing materials and our acoustic-materials work to high school students, as part of the Science Open House, Diamond Jubilee celebrations of IIT Kanpur. He also did demonstrations in the lab.

Work by Surendra Kumar et al. has been picked by the ACS editors for the ACS News. The work is also highlighted in the international and national science news: Phys.org, ScienceDaily, Technologynetworks, EurekalertSwifttelecast, Chemistryviews, New Atlas, ScienMagBioengineer.org, Miragenews, and Natureworld.  It also attracted attention to the seaweed and music communities.

Sidharth, Sohan, and Arnav have put together a Resonant Ultrasound Spectrometer, an instrument used to identify the 21 elastic constants of an anisotropic material

2023: September

I had given a webinar recently on the using COMSOL Multiphysics to determine the bandgaps and scattering in phononic crystals. The recording is available here.
